28A – Your Exit Strategy

1) Identify the exit strategy you plan to make. Do you intend to sell your business in the next 5 years for a large return? Do you intend to stay with the business for several decades and retire? Do you intend to protect the venture as a family business, and pass it down to your children?
I would plan on implementing the heating stations across campus and then leaving when I graduate. I don't expect to make any money off of this product and see no way I can benefit from it after graduation.
2) Why have you selected this particular exit strategy?
It's the only one that makes sense.
3) How do you think your exit strategy has influenced the other decisions you've made in your concept? For instance, has it influenced how you have identified an opportunity? Has it influenced your growth intentions or how you plan to acquire and use resources?
I think it makes this project not much of a priority for me since I will not benefit from it in a year from now. It's a very short term goal that won't do much good for me but can help many other students for years to come.

  1. Hey Rana, it seems like you put a lot of thought into your exit strategy! I agree that this product could be a short-term goal, but you could also make a business out of it! If you found an efficient way to create heating stations, other universities might be interested in working with you as well! I love this idea you have and I think it could be very popular among students all over the country. Great work on this idea this semester!

  2. Hey Rana, great job on your exit strategy. Unfortunately, it seems like your being pessimistic about your idea's potential, but at the same time being realistic. I think that if you could implement your idea across campus, then their would be potential for you to make money. When it becomes popular, your idea could become a household name. Great job!

  3. Hey Rana,
I like how you are being realistic with your idea, and see the potential it may not have. But ultimately your idea is very strong and could help a large majority of people who struggle financially to pay for food every day. Having these heating stations could improve the lives of many people, not just at our own college campus, but at campuses across the country!!

  4. Hey Rana, great exit strategy. I understand this probably was never your money-making product, but it was great that you came up with it and are contributing to what a lot of students would like to have here on campus. Even though this opportunity is short term, I hope it helped lay the foundations of entrepreneurship for you in the future.

  5. Hi Rana! I kind of disagree. I think there is a lot of money to be made here and it would be silly of you not to profit off of your own genius idea. There is also no reason to stop when you graduate. You can pursue this full time and grow it into quite the company. Just something to think about, otherwise another flawless post.
